In this session, we will discuss the game changing First Nations Land Management Act that gives Indigenous communities the authority to develop their own land laws (land codes) so they are no longer managed by the government under the Indian Act. Sharing stories of overcoming barriers to economic development, before, during, and after COVID-19, and how boosting revenues through self-governing taxation, and maneuvering through intricacies of land management legislation, will provide vital information toward economic prosperity as we rebuild and recover from this pandemic.
