It was Lyle's grandmother Nellie Fabian that help raise and care for all the children and taught traditional values of caring for other people, protecting your community and your environment.

Lyle graduated high school and continued post-secondary schooling, and Lyle went to Mount Royal College in Calgary, Ab, and spent this time working on his Bachelor of General Studies. Lyle returned home to Katlodeeche First Nation in 2004 after being away for seven years and decided to work for his community.

For the next 17 years, Lyle focused on the education, design, installation, of IT networks with an emphasis on fiber optic infrastructures for communities of the North. Katlodeeche First Nation was the only community in 2013, that had a wireless and fiber optic network, that continues to operate to this day.
