Victoria’s energy, passion and commitment to support First Nations communities is extensive, having served many roles at the community, regional and national levels. Victoria is an accomplished Mi’gmaq entrepreneur from Listuguj, in the traditional district of Gespe’gewa’gi. She owns Wejipeg Excavation Inc and five years later Victoria became co-owner and President of Wejuseg Construction Inc. She also launched Rezmopolitan, an online clothing company.

Victoria holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton. As an MBA student with the highest GPA, she was the recipient of the E.D. Maher graduate student prize in Administration.

Victoria serves as coach and mentor to Indigenous women as part of the Indigenous Women in Community Leadership program at the Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University. As a mentor to the New Brunswick Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) Aboriginal Business Accelerator Program, Victoria works to ensure that her community builds financial literacy skills. Victoria is fluent in English, French and intermediate Mi’gmaq and is often called upon to MC events in her community. As co-chair for a national Steering Committee with the Canadian Construction Association, she oversees the development of an Indigenous Engagement Guide for SMEs.

An unwavering advocate to a local Indigenous women’s shelter, Victoria actively carries out community-based prevention and healing activities. In 2019, Victoria was honoured by the WXN as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women as an RBC Champion and again in 2020, in the category CP Skilled Trades.

Currently, she is Vice-chair of the National Indigenous Economic Development Board, the Coady Institute’s Circle of Abundance, member of the Indigenous Circle of Advisors to Honouring Indigenous Nations Canada, Fulbright Canada and founding member of the Indigenous Leadership Circle. She has spoken at many National and International speaking engagements, including the Peace and Friendship Leadership Dialogue with federal and provincial Ministers, New Brunswick Mi’gmaq and Wolastoqiyik Chiefs.

Victoria has a great sense of humour, that infuse her relationships with a sense of warmth and humanity and believes that: “When the goin’ gets tough, the tough put on lipstick”.
