Tamara Podemski is an Anishinaabe/Ashkenazi multi-disciplinary artist whose work on stage, screen and in the recording studio has garnered such awards as the Special Jury Prize for Acting at the Sundance Film Festival (FOUR SHEETS TO THE WIND), two Aboriginal Music Awards for her self-titled album (TAMARA), an imagiNATIVE and American Indian Film Festival Award for Best Music Video (MEEGWETCH), and an ACTRA Award and Canadian Screen Award for her role on CBC’s CORONER. She has also received a Best Writing nomination for her work on the APTN documentary series FUTURE HISTORY. Tamara recently returned to the recording studio to launch a year-long project called the
FULL MOON RELEASES, where she records, produces and releases a new single every full moon. The first single was BRAND NEW DAY, a tribute to her grandparents who were survivors of the LeBret Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. BRAND NEW DAY is currently climbing the charts on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
