Andrew de Vries, is the Manager of Indigenous Opportunities and Government Relations for Tolko Industries Ltd. (Tolko) based in Vernon, British Columbia. He has over 30 years’ experience in natural resource management and Indigenous relations, gained in Canada, the USA and internationally. Prior to his role at Tolko, he worked for national industry associations representing mining (MAC) and forestry (FPAC).  He also worked for the North American Sustainable Forestry Initiative leading that organization on Indigenous, conservation and community files.  Early in his career he gained operational experience working for an environmental consulting firm and forest companies in western Canada, Washington and Oregon. Andrew holds a M.A. and B.Sc., from the University of Calgary, specializing in anthropology and animal behaviour.
